Verse of the Day

A friend shared this verse with me this morning and it left me utterly speechless:

"Oh! Ephraim is my dear, dear son,
my child in whom I take pleasure!
Every time I mention his name,
my heart bursts with longing for him!
Everything in me cries out for him.
Softly and tenderly I wait for him." God's Decree. (Jeremiah 31:20 MSG)

Here's the part that got me: God doesn't love Ephraim any more than He loves us! Now read the verse like this:

"Oh! (your name) is my dear, dear daughter,
my child in whom I take pleasure!
Every time I mention (your name)'s name,
my heart bursts with longing for her!
Everything in me cries out for her.
Softly and tenderly I wait for her." God's Decree.

One word: Awe.
